The CheshireNetword group exists for tutors of languages to adults, wherever in Cheshire they may teach, to have the opportunity of networking with other tutors in order to exchange ideas and experience.

Drawing our membership from a wide area, we teach in colleges across the region, Lancaster University, the U3A, Age UK (Cheshire) and many members also teach privately. Most teach the four main European languages, although Arabic, Greek, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian and Welsh are also represented.

Halton and Warrington are no longer part of Cheshire, though there are historical reasons for their inclusion in the Cheshire group. We registered as a Netword group (within the then CILT network) in 1998, but there has been a network of language tutors since 1989. We were one of the earliest areas to recognise the isolationist nature of part-time language teaching and the personal and professional advantages of getting together.
